Dr. Hillary Klonoff-Cohen

EMINENT SCIENTIST AND OUTSTANDING SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR 2017 - AMERICA

Dr. Hillary Klonoff-Cohen presently serves as the Saul J. Morse & Anne B. Morgan Professor in Applied Health Sciences, Associate Director of Community Health, and the Director of the MPH and PhD Programs in Community Health at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Klonoff-Cohen is also a Professor Emerita in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, where she worked for almost 25 years. Dr. Klonoff-Cohen earned her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to this, she obtained her BA in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and her Masters of Science in Biology from the University of Bridgeport. She also received her Certificate in Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport and an Associateship degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Klonoff-Cohen has published over 50 papers in the fields of maternal and child health epidemiology(e.g., Sudden infant death syndrome, childhood asthma, and autism), immunology (e.g., preeclampsia, in vitro fertilization, and childhood asthma),and cancer (e.g., premenopausal breast cancer, pediatric cancer, fertility preservation, and survivorship). She has served as Academic Chair to almost 300 medical, doctoral, and master’s students and received millions of dollars in research funds over her career.
Dr. Klonoff-Cohen received one of the Women Leaders in California awards by Governor Edmund G Brown in 2015. She is listed in Who’s Who in the World, America, Science and Engineering, and American Women. She currently serves on the federal NIH PLUS Expert External Panel for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease as well as the American College of Surgeons Cancer Care DeliveryNational Committee.Dr. Klonoff-Cohen was a member of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, Developmental and Reproductive Toxicants Identification (DART) Committee, in the California State Capital of Sacramento for 14 years.
Dr. Klonoff-Cohen has been happily married for 35 years to Dr. Randy Cohen, a family physician, who practices in both Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. They have one lovely daughter, Auroraleigh Cohen, who will return as a junior to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in Fall 2017. Dr. Klonoff-Cohen is passionate about piano, all types of music, dance, entertainment, and art as well astraveling, swimming, badminton, and ice-skating.
Dr. Klonoff-Cohen – a world-renowned expert in the field of Immunology, maternal and child health epidemiology wasselected by the World Scientists Forum for “Eminent Scientist of the Year 2017” international award for her research innovations and outstanding contributions in the field of Immunology.

Award Ceremony
An award ceremony was conducted in the University of Illinois, Champaign, ILL, USA on 10th October 2017. The award was conferred by IRPC Chief co-ordinator in the presence of several eminent academicians including the Pro Vice Chancellors and the Dean of the University.
